Come superare i deficit di capitale intellettuale locale attraverso l’Osservatorio Turistico di Destinazione

Lucia Varra

Abstract

This paper aims at examining the role that the Tourism Destination Observatory (TDO) may play in the development of intellectual capital in tourism destinations. The latter are often object of improvement operations of physical resources but also of a lack of attention to the existing intangible assets. Within a larger project of study about the sustainability and competitiveness of Abetone through the Swot Analysis and the employment of a system of indicators created by the Tuscan Universities and the Union of Italian Provinces (UPI), the paper analyzes some variables of human, organizational and relational local capital. Starting from the problems identified and the operation mode of the Observatory, which Abetone has being acquired, it is important to think about how this project may represent a model of facilitation and policy (managing) of creation and exchange of knowledge according to the model of Nonaka (1994). It is also important to analyze how these processes may begin complete cycles of development of the intellectual capital in the destination.
