The volume explores the application of cognitive neuroscience to organizational and social contexts, focusing on decision-making, emotional, and regulatory dynamics that shape the interaction between individuals, environments, and technology. It presents theoretical models and experimental approaches for assessing cognitive, emotional, and behavioral processes in high-complexity work settings. The perspective is multidisciplinary: psychology, neurophysiology, and technology converge to outline new avenues for intervention and applied research. Special attention is given to mental workload, adaptive regulation, neuromanagement, and organizational well-being, with references to neuroscience tools and cognitive monitoring techniques. The book targets professionals, researchers, and policy makers interested in understanding and transforming decision-making systems and operational practices through a neurocognitive lens.

Michela Balconi, PhD, is Professor of Psychophysiology and Cognitive Neuroscience at the Catholic University of Milan and Brescia. Head of the Research Unit in Affective and Social Neuroscience, Director of the International research center for Cognitive Applied Neuroscience (IrcCAN). Founder and Editor-in-Chief of the Neuropsychological Trends journal. She introduced new neuroscientific methods to analyze human interactions in the Social Neuroscience field.
