Abstract
The aim of this paper is to analyze the political development of the region of Acarnania in the 5th centrury BC. Using the information provided by Xenophon about the Acarnanian koinon, we will undertake a restrospective analysis showing the close relationship between the political unification of Acarnania and the intervention of Athens.
