Starting from the analysis of legislative competences and adminis-trative functions in the tour-ism sector, the essay focuses on a particular form of tourism, that is cultural tourism, considered as the tool through which to valorize cultural heritage and to reach the Italy. that development of an economic-social nature to which it aspires. Therefore, it has been demostrated that cultural tourism represents an important tool to increase local economic matters in order to promote the district, wherefore tourists may be aware of his-tory, culture and local customs.
