Abstract
One of the most fascinating characters of Lancelot en prose is Galehaut, Lord of the Faraway Islands. The story about his friendship and relationship with the young Lancelot becomes the occasion to introduce a different matter into the plot of the narration, conveying a sense of civilization to the word of romance.
