Ricognizione e validazione dell’apprendimento non formale e informale degli adulti che rientrano all’Università, nella prospettiva del «lifelong learning». Il contesto italiano

Abstract

Recognition and Validation of Non-Formal and Informal Learning for Adults Re-entering Universities, in the «Lifelong Learning» Perspective. The Italian Context

The present article develops a reflection based on empirical work in progress relating to the validation of non-formal or informal learning for adult students enrolled in universities, as a key element in lifelong learning strategies. The project refers to strategies of change proposed by the lifelong learning model in a systemic perspective and shared within the EU. Learning and the valorisation of competences become crucial in a lifelong learning-oriented educational system also including the educational institutions of higher education, such as universities. The new economic scenario points to individual learning and the different ways and settings in which it occurs. Hence the growing attention of educational and work institutions towards non-formal and informal learning. The educational interpretation of lifelong learning stresses the reflective aspect of human action and individual ability to structure cultural behaviour in a global life dimension characterised by learning potential. The recognition and validation of prior experiential learning of adults in higher education show how the university can act as an enabler and capacity-builder in lifelong and lifewide learning.
